Dear CBI health service providers,
As you know, the CBI Working Group is committed to moving towards data sharing within CBI. We are also committed to ensuring the implementation is done in an effective and efficient manner minimizing any manual processes wherever possible. We are in budget planning discussions with the TC LHIN and as we have not yet confirmed funding for certain aspects of CBI, we will be putting CBI data sharing on hold until we are in a position to move forward.
Once we have finalized our funding, we will begin to reach out to your client management system vendors to discuss adding a client level consent flag to support CBI data sharing. Once your vendor has initiated this activity, we will reach out to you to support your HSP’s implementation of data sharing.
We continue to work on:
- A toolkit to support you in the implementation of data sharing which will be made available when a new go-live date can be set;
- Updating the CBI policies and procedures to reflect a data sharing environment;
- Implementing the recommendations set out in the Data Sharing Privacy Impact Assessment that was completed in June in collaboration with our Privacy, Security and Data Access Sub-group; and
- Designing a set of reports that will support CBI data sharing.
Many of you have already signed the Data Sharing Agreement. If you have not done so, we encourage you to sign the agreement which can be found here on the CBI website. We also want to thank all of those who have contributed to this process with your time and support. Your feedback has been very helpful as we continue to work towards the goal of data sharing.
